Cabot Market Letter Named to Hulbert 2010 Honor Roll

Cabot Market Letter was recognized as one of only nine investment newsletters in this year’s Hulbert Financial Digest Honor Roll.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Letter Recognized for Performance in Up and Down Markets

December 14, 2009—Cabot Market Letter (known as Cabot Growth Investor as of 2015) was recognized as one of only nine investment newsletters in Hulbert Financial Digest 2010 Honor Roll.

Hulbert Financial Digest tracks the performance of nearly 200 investment newsletters. To be included in the Hulbert Honor Roll, newsletters must exhibit above-average performance in both the four “up” market periods and the four “down” market periods from June 30, 1998 to November 30, 2009. The letters also had to beat the overall market on a risk-adjusted basis.

The announcement was made in the December 2009 issue of Hulbert Financial Digest. According to Hulbert, Honor Roll recipients are the newsletters that investors “likely will be able to live with through both thick and thin.”

To select the newsletters for the Honor Roll, Hulbert calculated performance for the 78 predominantly U.S. equity-focused newsletters that it tracks during each of the up and down market periods. Hulbert reported that Cabot Market Letter annualized performance during the 11+ years was 5.3%.

The down periods during the span of 11+ years were July 1998 through August 1998, January 2000 through September 2001, March 2002 through October 2009 and October 2007 through March 2009. The up periods were the intervening months.

Hulbert graded Cabot Market Letter third overall in up and down markets, with the fifth highest score in up markets and the third highest score in down markets. More on Hulbert 2010 Honor Roll.

Cabot Market Letter is also ranked as one of the Top Ten Long-Term Timers by Timer Digest as of December 7, 2009.
