Finally, the coronavirus news is improving, and so is the market. We’re now up about 12% on the Dow since our issue last month. Our Adviser Sentiment Barometer is mixed; still mostly bearish, but our contributors—as well as our analysts here at Cabot Wealth feel we are near a bottom on the markets. That, of course, is dependent upon how well we do when our economy begins to reopen.
So far, around 17 million unemployment claims have been filed, and it will take awhile for the unemployment number to recover. But, as you know, the markets generally move ahead of the economy, gathering the good news in first, so we are feeling optimistic.
As you know, I’ve been adding a lot of dividend stocks to my newsletter in the past month or so, so that you could, at least, enjoy some cash flow while we await the recovery. I’m beginning to go back to growth, so you’ll see more of those recommendations in the next few weeks.
And our Spotlight Stock this month, certainly fits the growth category.

And our Spotlight Stock this month, certainly fits the growth category. One of the FANG stocks, the company is seeing expansion on all levels, including e-commerce, streaming, and its web services. This month, we also have a second opinion on the stock, also very positive. And my Feature article is a bit more numbers-based as to why we believe this company will continue to be a major online force.
Our Growth idea is a mattress manufacturer that is growing its alliances both here and internationally. In Growth & Income, we offer ideas in the gaming, chicken producing, and trucking businesses. Our Value recommendations include a manufacturing conglomerate and an automobile reseller.
You’ll recognize the largest retailer in the world as our Income idea. And in Financials, our contributors have offered picks from the insurance, banking, investment management, and credit card sectors. Healthcare stocks are very popular right now, and here, you’ll find recommendations for pharmaceutical, biotech, and a health services company.
Tech stocks are holding up pretty well and our advisors have picked two communications software companies, a couple of finance software businesses, a chipmaker, a gaming software maker, and a provider of tech solutions to the government.
In Preferred Stocks & REITs, you’ll find recommendations from the insurance, mortgage, and office REIT sectors. Our High Yield stocks includes a company that makes scoreboards and an international communications provider.
Lastly, our Funds & ETF section includes a large-cap, biotech, and capital and income ideas.
I hope you and your families continue to be safe and healthy. We are hoping we can get back to normal in the next few months and that we will be seeing a lot of you at our Cabot Wealth Summit in August. Stay tuned for more information about that event.
