This wood products company beat analysts’ estimates by $0.12 last quarter, and four analysts have increased their EPS forecasts for the company in the past 30 days.

Boise Cascade Company (BCC) had a banner third quarter. The wood products manufacturer and building materials distributor earned $0.81 a share in the third quarter, beating analysts’ forecast by 17%.

Sales in wood products & building materials segments rose 8% and 18%, respectively. Looking past a seasonally slow fourth quarter, Boise stands to benefit from growth in housing starts. Its shares appeal to growth investors with a tolerance for low earnings predictability.

They trade at 15.3X-forward EPS versus prospects for 39% EPS growth in the next 12 months. (Next earnings: Mid-Feb. 2018)
