Congrats to the Top Picks of 2017

Investors found a lot of extra gains in their 2017 stockings—all year long. Including dividends, the broad market gains were Dow Jones Industrial Average: 30.20%, S&P 500: 23.34% and the Nasdaq: 30.04%.

While those returns were stellar, our contributors surpassed them by leaps and bounds. Our Top Picks of 2017 performed beautifully, with our top gainer, Arista Networks (ANET) returning 167.01%! Thanks to Michael Cintolo, Chief Analyst of Cabot Top Ten Trader, for this great pick.

Three of our Top Five for 2017 were also leaders at mid-year, including ANET. Second place winner YY Inc. (YY), recommended by Joseph Cotton, editor of Cotton’s Technically Speaking, gained 102.53%, and in third place, Vertex Pharmaceuticals (VRTX) was chosen by Crista Huff, Chief Analyst of Cabot Undervalued Stocks Advisor.

Our Top Five Picks averaged a return of 72.83%. Congratulations to all of our contributors!

What will the markets do in 2018? Well, most of our contributors remain very bullish for the year, but with a bit of caution and expectations for more volatile markets thrown into the mix. That means careful stock selection will be essential to navigate choppy markets, and fortunately, that’s where our contributors excel!

For our Top Picks 2018, we have a very nice mix of speculative and conservative ideas, mined from almost every sector.
