Wall Street’s Best Investments 833

The markets have been a bit choppy of late, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising to 29,000 at the beginning of the month, then retreating and rising again. It looks like Fall may be a little volatile. As you’ll see in our Advisor Sentiment Barometer and Market Views, sentiment remains bullish, with a hint of caution.

That stands to reason, as we’ve been on a fairly unstoppable uptrend for quite some time. So, a period of catching our breath is not necessarily a bad thing. Especially, as the economy continues to hold its own, with consumer credit, job openings and the CPI all steadily improving. Unemployment, of course, remains the biggest challenge, but hopefully, the eventual end of COVID-19 will restore some semblance of normality to our hospitality and entertainment industries, which have suffered the most.

In the meantime, our contributors have continued to find some very interesting stock picks. We begin this month’s issue with our Spotlight Stock, a REIT with above average yield, and a Dividend Aristocrat. In my Feature article, I further explore the REIT industry and explain why it’s almost always a good time to hold a REIT or two in your portfolio

In my Feature article, I further explore the REIT industry and explain why it’s almost always a good time to hold a REIT or two in your portfolio.

Next, our Growth stocks include a maker of protective films and a used car vendor that has exploded onto the scene, creating a new way to purchase pre-owned vehicles. In Growth & Income, you’ll find one of my favorite kitchen retailers, a consumer products company, a payroll processor, and a food producer.

Our Value stock is a global beverage company. In Financials, we offer several banks, as well as a mortgage company and a specialty insurance firm. Our contributors continue to like Healthcare, and here, they have picked a medical testing company, as well as a big pharma and a biopharma company.

In Technology, you’ll find a company that handles Apple device management, and the largest search engine in the world. This month, we offer a large group of High Yield & Preferred Stocks, most from the Energy arena, but accompanied by a mining business, an energy distributor, a utility, an oil and gas equipment company, and a healthcare technology firm.

Our more speculative picks in Low-Priced Stocks come from the natural gas and digital video imaging sectors. We also include one REIT that specializes in apartments.

Lastly, in Funds & ETFs, our offerings cover a broad array of sectors and styles, including Asia, Leverage, Small Cap, Preferred Stocks, Technology, and Bonds.

I hope you are staying well. It seems like COVID-19 is not interested in departing anytime soon. So, we just make the best of it. Fortunately, the markets offer optimism that the end of the pandemic will, at some point, actually occur. In the meantime, we’ll keep hunkering down and keep our eyes open to new investment opportunities. As always, please don’t hesitate to email me with your feedback and questions.
